Abhay Mainkar was a kind, giving and honorable person who inspired goodness and respect by way of his example. What was immediately striking about Abhay was his generosity of spirit and positive nature to give with his heart and to others before himself. Since the inception of the idea to start the Easter Basket Drive, Abhay my brother-n-law, my friend, my family, my mentor, was the first donor and one of its biggest supporters. His empathy to help others is best expressed when he was delivering Easter Baskets to Hilltop Haven Shelter in Paterson. The shelter had not received food for the day because of lack of funding and Abhay immediately went to the supermarket and bought food for the entire shelter. This is what his character was- to him, kindness was second nature.
